I turned 30 back on August 6th, so I feel your pain. :P
Happy birthday man!
My ride - my Accent, appropriately named ‘Humdrum’ - coincidentally, I had even taken this pic on MY birthday:

Lol yea I hung up my skateboard a few years ago because of my knees but I still snowboard a lot, stretching every day helps.

LOL! I just read description of grapes in GIS.

You’ll probably get your first letter from AARP sometime this week. Congrats!!! Welcome to the life of dinners at 4:30pm, early bird coffee specials at the local diner, and Sunday mornings spent growling at the neighborhood kids while you try to figure out a six letter word for “young man” for 6 across in the newspaper crossword.
Which, by the way, you still are.
Happy birthday. :) Give the pups some scritches for me.

My daughter turns six tomorrow. That makes me feel older than turning thirty.

29 was the worst. Worrying about turning 30. Even after turning 45 this year.

Happy Birthday!
I hit the same milestone tomorrow. I’ll see you on the other side.

At 30, I had a coupe for commuting and a hatchback for the family.
At 35, the coupe is sold I commute by train and we own a minivan to portage the children.
On the positive side though I am down 45 pounds from when I was 30.

30 old? HA! Happy birthday tho! 30 i viewed as when i had to have most of my shit together. 40s almost old and when things start to ache for no reason. 45 is when your shoulder starts coming apart and knees bother and you have no idea why. Thats officially old cause its a realised downhill. Enjoy your thirties as much as you can because its way too easy to loose them to the work cycle.
midlife crisis isnt a crisis at all. its just a time when you finally have enough money to do something and the wife gets angry its not spent all on her.

If it makes you feel any better, I’m 26.
I know that did not make you feel better. Here’s the stable:

Dude, did you take your Milan to a rallycross? That’s fucking awesome!

Love your truck, man!

Happy birthday, birthday buddy. (It’s my birthday today too, but I’m a few years but I’m a few years behind you)
There is the family fleet, less the MG which is behind me next to the boat.

Here’s one. Also, I was 30 ten months ago.

Happy birthday young man.

Thanks! I need to throw a new transmission in her. Now that it’s not 110F outside I can get to it. She’s rocking a 350 with a mild cam, long tube headers, and a Edelbrock intake and carb. She’s a lot of fun.
![]() 09/23/2016 at 11:32 |

Mmmm I still have a few months of my 20s left, but still no life success in sight.

Happy birthday! I turned 30 back in April. So far, it’s awesome! Also, definitely tell people over 50 you’re old now, their reactions are priceless.
2016 Tacoma
1993 Miata
Yamha FZ6 (On the right, at one point all of these were mine but I sold two, need to get a dual sport)
Giant Trance
Trek 7.5FX (My daily driver/commuter)
Pacific Airwave Mark IV

Hell yes! I don’t know how I missed this, I have been neglecting Oppo!
Checking these out now

The grapes look like olives.
![]() 09/23/2016 at 13:54 |

Hahaha, I see you starred each article. It was a ridiculous adventure and the Milan is most likely retired from racing (for now). I’m hoping to snag a Fox Body Mercury Capri or Mustang if I can. RWD seems like it would be insane fun for RallyX. Obviously not the fastest way around the track, but I imagine the absolute funnest route
![]() 09/23/2016 at 13:56 |
|
That would be seriously awesome. Where is this course?
![]() 09/23/2016 at 14:00 |
|
Ha! I now see that they kinda do!
![]() 09/23/2016 at 14:07 |

I’ve done the same one twice, I was scheduled to go to a dirt oval where they use the banked turns, the infield....and some over the ledge of the banked turn outside of the track haha, that one got rained out though.
It’s in South Lyon Michigan. Basically one of the SCCA guys owns a small horse farm and lets us tear it up.

You get a star despite owning a fixie
![]() 09/23/2016 at 14:31 |

You’re not in prison. That’s a definite win.

You’ll be 30 before you know it.
Please release those women from the stable. They deserve to live in a proper people home

Already have knee and back issues from an accident. Shoulder issues from ultimate frisbee. I’ve lost most of my 20s to work. Finally getting to the point of having enough money to do the things I want.
![]() 09/23/2016 at 14:42 |

I have the hatch for work/dogs. No kids in the foreseeable future but definitely never enough to justify a mini van

Don’t party too hard

Wait till 49 hits?
![]() 09/23/2016 at 14:48 |

Happy birthday to her. The idea of having children terrifies me.
![]() 09/23/2016 at 14:51 |

Thanks. No joke, I got an AARP membership offer in the mail a few weeks ago. I’ve already started the grey hair watch.
![]() 09/23/2016 at 14:52 |
|
Yeah. Gotta remember to stretch.
![]() 09/23/2016 at 14:52 |
|
same here.... yet me, my brother and 2 male cousins are loosing our shit.
![]() 09/23/2016 at 15:17 |

I ‘only’ have three, so we could have stayed with the hatchback, but my wife and I laid out our finances and realized her staying home with the kids and watching two others during the week actually went further than her continuing to work in the office. This required two more seats that would be used daily with boosters and child seats. SUVs are inferior at this task thanks to the higher floors. So we got a van.
It’s actually pretty awesome for roadtrips . We are testing which is more powerful, police notice red cars or no one notices minivans. So far it’s no one notices minivans.

Old and sideways flag of Belgium.

Aw but they’re so fun! I also have a unicycle, I don’t know if that helps or hurts things haha.
![]() 09/23/2016 at 19:08 |
|
Definitely hurts things
![]() 09/23/2016 at 19:12 |
|
Looks like we’re not the types to get along.
![]() 09/23/2016 at 19:44 |
|
I find the rest acceptable. I’ve only known one person I didn’t want to punch in the face that had a unicycle though.
![]() 09/23/2016 at 19:52 |
|
I went to a unicycle meet up and pretty much everyone there was a quiet nerdy type. I can’t imagine them being face punchable. The unicycle was actually a 30th birthday gift from my girlfriend since we’re talking about 30th birthdays. She got it for me because turning thirty made me realize it’s important to stay open to new things and to keep actively learning new skills. Overall it’s been a pretty fun thing to learn, it’s harder than it looks, and it doesn’t look easy.
![]() 09/23/2016 at 20:36 |
|
Congrats! I turn 30 just before the end of the year, no big deal (though I realized I’ll be 10 years from 40 and that seemed scarier).
I feel like we’ve discussed it before, but how do you like your Mazda3?
![]() 09/23/2016 at 20:50 |
|
That’s pretty cool. The guys I’m thinking of would break out their unicycle like guys at a party breaking out a guitar: for the desperate need for attention. One guy in particular would encircle groups of people (especially girls) and ride through them. Basically a creepy pedo-stached hipster would harass people out of his need for someone to look at him. The other guy wasn’t as bad but still reeked of desperation for attention. They’ve left a bad taste in my mouth ever since.
![]() 09/23/2016 at 21:08 |

I love it. At 92k right now. Just oil changes, tires, and rear brakes so far. It’s due for new tires soon (I’m bad about rotating as often as I should) and I think it’s heading towards needing new shocks soon. Looks a little lower than it used to.
Sometimes I wish it had a little more power but you could say that about any car just about.
It’s a ton of fun going through the gears and in the turns.
![]() 09/23/2016 at 21:09 |
|
Basically: I don’t like you any less or hold it against you. One of those things where the negative associations have outweighed the positives for the time being.
![]() 09/23/2016 at 21:24 |
|
Nice! I test drove one a year ago and found the armrest/seating position a bit uncomfortable (I’m 6'0 190lbs). However, pitching it into a corner was like nothing else I’ve ever driven, quite hilarious. The tach was super small too, though after a while you just wouldn’t need it.
![]() 09/23/2016 at 22:00 |
|
Yeah. I never look at the tach. That was my big complaint when I first got it. I think on the 2.5 and other Mazda models you get the big tach.
![]() 09/24/2016 at 21:45 |
|
Bonus for early achievement!
![]() 09/26/2016 at 12:48 |

Yeah, I wouldn’t like that either. Although, I will admit, seeking it or not, you get a lot of attention when you ride a unicycle. But I don’t take it to parties, I just take it camping as a fun thing to do when you’re outside. My goal is to be able to do fairly easy mountain biking trails. I’m not really a “tricks” kinda guy.
Also, I like when people play music at parties. I think it’s fun! To me, the most important thing with all this stuff is reading other people. If people aren’t into your guitar playing or unicycling, you’re being an attention seeking jerk, but if people are laughing and actively engaging you, you’re just being fun.
